Celebrity Tattoo Removal Before and After

What celebrities have gotten tattoos removed?

Many, many, many celebrities have gotten tattoos removed. More than we are able to list. But here are some of the most well-known celebrities who have gotten tattoos removed and do not regret that decision.

Ariana Grande

Pop star Ariana Grande decided to get a tattoo celebrating her hit single “7 Rings.” The tattoo’s design was meant to be 7 rings in Japanese characters, but people far more familiar with Japanese were quick to point out that her tattoo did not say 7 rings. Instead, it said small barbecue grill. She admitted to leaving out other characters due to the pain of the tattoo in the first place, but the mistake was enough for her to get that tattoo removed.

Pete Davidson

SNL star Pete Davidson is in the process of getting more than 100 tattoos removed. The main reason for his decision to remove his tattoos is due to his acting career. He hadn’t expected to get into acting, assuming he’d peak at SNL. But with roles in Suicide Squad and The King of Staten Island, he’s realized there’s more opportunity out there for them. Except his tattoos limit his roles and the time spent acting versus the time spent getting them covered in the makeup chair.

Angelina Jolie

In 2000, Angelina married Billy Bob Thornton, but it was not a long-lasting marriage, as they broke it off in 2003. Sometime in these 3 years, Jolie got a tattoo of Billy Bob’s name and a dragon on her left arm. Following their divorce, Jolie got the tattoo removed and then replaced with a list of coordinates of family birthplaces.

Johnny Depp

Johnny Depp had it bad for Edward Scissorhands co-star Winona Ryder. So bad, in fact, he got the words Winona Forever inked on his right arm. When Depp and Ryder broke up in 1993, Depp got part of the tattoo removed: the “na” in Winona, resulting in a tattoo that now reads Wino Forever.

Khloé Kardashian

Khloé Kardashian removed a tattoo she’s referred to as a “tramp stamp.” The tattoo was meant to be a tribute to her late father, Rob Kardashian. The tattoo included the word daddy in cursive font with a cross and angel wings.

Mark Wahlberg

Actor and former rapper Mark Wahlberg said it took him 5 years to get rid of his unwanted tattoos, ideally before he started work in the 2010 movie The Fighter. He claimed he removed 8 or 9 tattoos in several locations, including his neck, arms, legs, stomach, and back.

50 Cent

Similar to Pete Davidson, rapper 50 Cent is working on getting tattoos removed so he can further his on-screen career and cut down on the hours spent in the makeup department.

Heidi Klum

Far from the only celebrity on this list to make the time-old mistake of getting a lover’s name inked into her skin forever, Heidi Klum got a tattoo of her husband’s name, Seal, in 2008 on her right arm. After her 2012 divorce, she removed Seal’s name but kept the 3 stars in the design. Each star holds her 3 children’s initials.

Megan Fox

Megan Fox chose to remove her Marilyn Monroe tattoo in 2011. Her reasoning? After reading more about the legendary Marilyn Monroe, Fox didn’t want to follow in the star’s footsteps as a powerful woman who missed out on incredible opportunities. She also was tired of having it covered up for different acting jobs.

Sarah Hyland

Sarah Hyland, best known for her character Haley Marshall on Modern Family, made the less than sound decision to get a tattoo of a dinosaur on her butt in 2017. Two years later, she made the sounder decision to get the tattoo removed.

Eva Longoria

Eva Longoria of Desperate Housewives fame previously had the number 9 tattooed on her neck — a reference to her ex-husband Tony Parker’s baseball jersey. But that wasn’t the only tattoo she had that referenced her ex — the others included their wedding date and the initials T.P. She had all 3 tattoos removed when she divorced him in 2010. She also removed a cross on her lower back.

Kelly Osborne

In 2010, Kelly Osborne said she planned to have most of her tattoos removed because many of them did not have a deeper meaning to them. The removal process is still ongoing for Osborne, as seen in some of her Instagram posts.

Adrienne Bailon

Actress Adrienne Bailon made the poor decision to get ex-boyfriend Rob Kardashian’s full name inked on her butt. They dated from 2007 to 2009, and Bailon got the tattoo removed in the years following the relationship’s end.
